Knightsbridge comes to Harrogate was one of the many comments from our customers when they first stepped into our new retail store. Opened in October 2000, the new Ramus Seafood Emporium is one of the finest shops of its kind in the country.

With its state of the art fish display counters and magnificent interior it really is a seafood lovers delight. The concept was to provide our customers with a shopping experience second to none and to marry the traditional with the modern. We have done this with a mix of traditional and high tech equipment, handbuilt polished display counters, ash dressers and stained glass are some of the quality materials we have used.

So impressed have people been that at an award ceremony in September 2001 Harrogate Borough Council awarded Ramus Seafoods a highly commended for the innovative design of the new Ramus Seafood Emporium.

The Award recognises the innovative contemporary design of both the interior and exterior shop frontage. This is the first time an independent food retailer has received this award in the Harrogate area.

Harrogate Mayor Bob Nash said that he had not seen a shop that looked like it and that Harrogate was very lucky to have such an outlet in the area.

By far the most important part of this new Emporium are the products. We have always been famous for our fabulous fresh fish. You are now more able than ever to judge its quality with our central display counter packed with doversole, seabass, halibut, tuna, salmon and many other species too numerous to mention. We have lobster dressed and ready to eat, seafood terrines such as lobster and foie gras, seafood salads for those summer picnics, a superb selection of smoked seafood, smoked meat and wonderful game fresh from local suppliers. We have a very impressive selection of wine designed to complement your seafood. We can also provide all the sauces and condiments you need to stock your kitchen, such as speciality oils and vinegars, chutneys and pasta sauces, stir fry sauces and speciality fish sauces all available from our wide selection.

Catering for any number of guests we have created a mouth-watering selection of ready to eat platters crammed with lobster, king prawns, fresh crab, smoked salmon and many other wonderful items.
