Based in the Spa town of Harrogate, Ramus Seafoods is a family run business with a twenty-seven year history of bringing the best seafood from all over the world direct to the people of North Yorkshire. With an enviable reputation we are rightly regarded as one of the premier Seafood Specialists in the country. Started by Chris and Liz Ramus in 1973 the business has been developed with Quality and Service in mind and the customer as the number one priority. We continue with those beliefs to this day and strive to find the best products we can from all over the world to provide you with the best there is from the world of seafood.
From humble beginnings supplying Scottish Lobsters to the Harrogate Hotel scene in the early seventies through to the eighties as the number one importer of live Canadian Lobster, to our position today, as the region's number one supplier to caterers and restaurateurs. We have always been pushing back the limits of what our business can achieve.
In August 1999 the future of Ramus Seafoods was secured with the change from a partnership into the new Ramus Seafoods Ltd. This gave the two senior managers of the business Jonathan Batchelor and Tony Rushton the opportunity to become shareholders and Directors of the new company.
The new team has over twenty years experience of Ramus Seafoods between them and with the continued committed support of Chris and Liz Ramus, look to develop and grow the business upon the fabulous platform that exists. The first phase of this growth, the superb new Seafood Emporium opened in October 2000. This has already caused massive interest countrywide and the second phase being the move into mail order home deliveries via the website. Who knows where the future will take Ramus Seafoods?
