Seafish Awards 2005 Independent Seafood Retailer of the Year

The success of the Ramus Seafood Emporium has continued into 2005 with our success at 2005 Seafish Awards held at the Lancaster Gate Hotel London on March the 9th this year.

The awards sponsored by Seafish the governing body of the seafood industry, have been designed to reward excellence raise industry standards and encourage development within the seafood industry.

Ramus Seafoods were nominated in two categories Independent Seafood Retailer of the Year and best Seafood Week marketing campaign. We were delighted to win the Seafood Retailer of the Year.

Shop manager Paul Manson, who attended this year's event, commented that "After so many years without a national award scheme its been a fantastic achievement to win the retailer of the year at this years inaugural event. It's a great feeling for all the staff and a great reward for all their hard work".

We would once again like to thank all our customers for all there custom and loyalty over the years and the contribution you have made in making us once again the best seafood shop in the country.

Ramus Seafoods, Independent Seafood Retailer of the Year

Ramus Seafoods has long been widely regarded as one of the top seafood retailers in the country but now its official.

At a glittering awards dinner held at the Grosvenor House Hotel Ramus Seafoods was presented with an award for Independent Seafood Retailer of the Year. The Retail awards, now in their ninth year, celebrate the very best in UK grocery retailing from the biggest multiple to smallest convenience store.

The judging panel declared Ramus Seafoods the winner claiming: "Ramus showed independent retailers could fight back against the might of the supermarkets." Ramus would encourage other independents to think - "we could do the same".

Chris Ramus, managing director of Ramus Seafoods commented: "We are delighted to have been recognised with such a fantastic award rewarding us for all aspects of our business from our staff, environment, charitable activity and of course our commitment to providing the widest range of high quality seafood and excellent customer service. Our industry has suffered greatly at the hands of supermarkets and larger operators and this award clearly recognises the role the independent food retailer still has to play in offering the consumer an individual quality experience."
