All recipes from a forthcoming Ramus cook book to celebrate the 40 years, Jonathan demonstrated how easy and simple they were to prepare whilst entertaining everyone with his witty banter and astonishing facts. Do you know that lobster has over 40 unique flavours? Or that crabs caught off the East coast are much smaller than those from the South? Having whetted the appetite with delicious nibbles, Jonathan went on demonstrate and explain the provenance of the main course. Sourced from an organic farm on the Hebridean island of Gigha, the halibut steak was firm, succulent and juicy and came served on a soft potato cake with a tangy salsa verde and accompanied by a delicious Sauvignon Blanc from Spen Valley Wines.

Summing up the evening, the Mayor of Harrogate, Councillor Mr Jim Clark, said, ‘I think it’s wonderful that Harrogate has such high quality food establishments such as Ramus and Weetons. They say life begins at 40 so we’re looking forward with anticipation to see what’s next in store!’
