The Awards recognise the very best standards in specialist retail and celebrate the highest levels of service, product knowledge, initiative, innovation and community involvement. The aim is to highlight the highly driven and passionate local businesses like Ramus Seafoods, putting us on the map both regionally and nationally and in turn, bringing interest to Harrogate.
Nigel Barden, chair of judges and BBC Radio 2 Gastronome commented “The artisan food and drink market is particularly competitive and it’s crucial that we recognise those who are championing the sector by leading from the front. It’s important that they can be acknowledged by the public and their peers in the trade.”
Jonathan Batchelor, Managing Director at local Fishmonger Ramus Seafoods said “We pride ourselves on offering the best fresh fish and seafood at great Yorkshire value, and want to encourage customers to make the most of the excellent variety and quality on offer.”
These coveted Awards recognise excellence within the specialist retail market, focusing on independent speciality retailers who sell regional fresh/farm produce or have a delicatessen counter. They are offered across twelve categories, including Fishmonger of the Year.
Entrants will also have the opportunity to win as a Regional Winner. The Regional Winners will progress through to have the opportunity to win the overall coveted title of ‘Farm Shop & Deli Awards Retailer of the Year’ announced at the Farm Shop & Deli Show, Monday 24th April 2017 at Birmingham’s NEC.
